The good people at the BBC<\/a> <\/strong>have put together a documentary on the legendary King\u2019s College Choir, and one of the tidbits they reveal is that the young soloist for the opening hymn is selected just seconds before the annual Christmas concert is broadcast:<\/p>\n

The choirboys at King\u2019s College Chapel in Cambridge have a more nerve-wracking Christmas than most.<\/p>\n
One of them will be picked to sing the solo for \u201cOnce in Royal David\u2019s City\u201d in the Nine Lessons in Carols service that gets broadcast around the world on Christmas Eve \u2013 but they will only find out seconds before they\u2019re supposed to sing.<\/p>\n
