A\u00a0GoFundMe<\/a>\u00a0account redirected the attention given\u00a0the\u00a0harassment of a family with ties to Covington Catholic toward charitable giving.<\/p>\n

The account creator,\u00a0John Andrew Hodge, writes that he is Michael Hodge\u2019s brother. Michael Hodge and his family were harassed after the Covington Catholic student\u00a0was misidentified as Nick Sandmann.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0account has raised more than $18,000<\/a>\u00a0for the\u00a0Mary Rose Mission<\/a>, a Catholic organization that serves low-income families and individuals in Northern Kentucky.<\/p>\n

The nonprofit provides meals to food-insecure individuals.<\/p>\n

\u201cMichael has volunteered cooking and serving there,\u201d wrote John Andrew Hodge, \u201cand I think it\u2019s an excellent way to recognize him and have some good come out of such a bad experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The GoFundMe page<\/a> <\/strong>explains:<\/p>\n

I\u2019m Andrew Hodge the older brother of Michael (pictured on the left), the Covington Catholic High School student and aspiring chef who was falsely identified and then doxxed, harassed, and threatened by a social media mob. Michael wasn\u2019t at the Lincoln Memorial. He was 500 miles away participating in the wedding of our brother, Alex.<\/p>\n

My family and I have received a great deal of support after I made that information known in a series of tweets. Many people even offered financial support. We\u2019re already blessed in that regard, but there are many others in our Northern Kentucky community who are not so fortunate.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why I\u2019m starting this Go Fund Me Campaign to support the Mary Rose Mission. This non-profit charity serves the needy of Northern Kentucky with hearty and healthy hot meals six evenings per week. \u00a0Michael has volunteered cooking and serving there, and I think it\u2019s an excellent way to recognize him and have some good come out of such a bad experience.<\/p>\n

Our goal is to raise $15,000 to support this charity.\u00a0100% of all the funds collected will be distributed to them.<\/strong><\/p>\n
