The National Journal<\/a><\/strong> reports:<\/p>\n

The original reports of the damage were fairly dismissive. Talking Points Memo did a slide show of damage to buildings in the D.C. area, and led with three pictures of tiny pieces of rubble on the front steps. The sarcastic captions read, \u201cSee it?\u201d and \u201cLook closely; it\u2019s there,\u201d and have large red arrows, just in case you miss it. Admittedly, the pictures they have don\u2019t show very much. The National Cathedral, which provided these images, has started soliciting donations to help repair the structure of the building. The TPM\u2019s pictures don\u2019t tell the whole story.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Evidently, a lot of the more serious structural problems occurred indoors.\u00a0 But still, there are scenes like the one below. My first thought was: the people who created some of these pieces are part of dying craft.\u00a0 They\u2019ve all but vanished.\u00a0 How can you replace something irreplaceable?<\/p>\n
