Now, a priest who took part\u00a0in the gathering is in hot water:\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Two days after appearing at a women\u2019s ordination conference in Philadelphia, Precious Blood Fr. Jack McClure said today he has been told he can no longer celebrate Mass at Most Holy Redeemer parish in San Francisco where he has been pastor and parochial vicar for the past 15 months.<\/p>\n

According to McClure, he was informed by Precious Blood Father\u00a0and Most Holy Redeemer pastor Matthew Link that the secretary for San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone\u00a0said McClure can no longer celebrate Mass beyond the end of this month.<\/p>\n

McClure said his last Mass will be Sunday, Sept. 27.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel bad about this. I feel bad for the parish. I feel bad about this silencing,\u201d said McClure. \u201cBut I want to make it known I appreciate the generosity Archbishop Cordileone\u00a0has shown me and my religious community for allowing us to serve in his archdiocese. However, in conscience I needed to break my silence.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Frankly, he shouldn\u2019t be surprised. \u00a0The teaching on this<\/a><\/strong> is unambiguous:<\/p>\n

In order that all doubt may be removed regarding a matter of great importance, a matter which pertains to the Church\u2019s divine constitution itself, in virtue of my ministry of confirming the brethren (cf. Lk 22:32) I declare that the Church has no authority whatsoever to confer priestly ordination on women and that this judgment is to be definitively held by all the Church\u2019s faithful.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
