We are in a bit of chaos right now, slowly transitioning from this big house to the small one. \u00a0We\u2019re lucky that we get to take our time to do this. \u00a0There\u2019s a lot involved; we\u2019re\u00a0not just carrying boxes back and forth and giving opinions about lighting fixtures and towel racks, but also withdrawing from the Old and entering the New. \u00a0 $\"the$ <\/a><\/p>\n

Here are some of the questions we are asking ourselves:<\/p>\n

Who are the spirits of fire there?\u00a0\u00a0Are they the same as here? \u00a0The wood is different. \u00a0How does that change things?<\/p>\n

Who are the old\u00a0ones?\u00a0 Which trees have been there longest? \u00a0What do they remember?<\/p>\n

Where does the\u00a0water come from? \u00a0How\u2019s the watershed?\u00a0\u00a0Who lives in the spring?<\/p>\n

Who are the \u2018pests\u2019?\u00a0 Ants?\u00a0 Rats?\u00a0 Mice?\u00a0 Moths? \u00a0How will we\u00a0take care of these pesky spirits?<\/p>\n

How do we keep our animals safe from predators? \u00a0Who roams the hills at night looking for prey?<\/p>\n

What does the earth right *here* want? \u00a0and *here*? and *here*? \u00a0How can we have a positive effect on the dirt?<\/p>\n

Where do the spirits of air nest? \u00a0What\u2019s important to them at this time of year?<\/p>\n

What sort of devotions are appropriate to the land? \u00a0Whose territory are we living in and how can we be \u2018good neighbors\u2019 to them?<\/p>\n

It is our intention to be thoughtful inhabitants of the Barn and the Farm. \u00a0Intelligent and friendly interaction with our hosts and our Hosts is key.<\/p>\n
