Bryan Fischer, like most self-proclaimed uber-patriots, doesn’t like the idea of anyone speaking any language other than English. On his radio show last week he made the truly inane argument that those who are bilingual are making America no longer “one nation, under God.”
One can almost hear echoes of the Hitler-Stalin pact when two of the most extreme voices in the Christian right, Scott Lively and Bryan Fischer, get together. On Fischer’s radio show, Lively made the ridiculous claim that in the non-existent “days of Noah” people were getting gay married and says being gay is worse than murder or genocide.
Oh boy, Ben Carson really stepped in it now. After saying that prison rape proves that homosexuality is a choice and then disingenuously trying to walk that back, he now has Bryan Fischer criticizing him for “surrendering to homofascists.”
Bryan Fischer brought self-declared “prophet of God” Jim Garlow on his radio show this week and the two of them bonded over their shared preference for turning American into not only a Christian theocracy, but the type of Christian theocracy they personally want (the meanest, dumbest, most totalitarian one possible, of course).
Once is nothing, twice is a coincidence, three times is a trend. This is the third time in less than a week that I’ve heard a Christian right bigot make the argument that making government officials apply the law equally to their constituents is “slavery.” Bryan Fischer is the latest:
Even as someone who chronicles the bizarro world in which the Christian right thinks they live on a daily basis, sometimes one of them says something so galactically idiotic that it even leaves my jaw agape. Bryan Fischer is often the one to do it and here he does it again:
Along with 60 members of the Republican National Committee, Dennis Prager is also on that trip to Israel financed by the American Family Association, which tried to distance itself from Bryan Ficher by partially firing him last week. And Prager says everyone on that trip finds Fischer’s views repugnant:
Bryan Fischer is mad that people turned up to protest at Bobby Jindal’s prayer rally. In fact, he accuses them of being possessed by Satan and says that gay people give off the “the unvarnished energy of Satan himself.” If only we could harness that energy, we could do away with fossil fuels.
I really should start sending Bryan Fischer a Ramadan card every year. Who, other than perhaps Joseph Farah, provides me with more blogging material by continually saying incredibly stupid shit every day? I owe them a debt I can never repay. Here’s Fischer’s latest little nugget of dumb:
Bryan Fischer joins Bill Donohue and other Christian totalitarians in suggesting that the staff at Charlie Hebdo who were murdered had it coming because they were being blasphemous. In fact, he goes even further in suggesting that perhaps God sent those Muslim terrorists to punish them for taking his name in vain.
Uber-bigot and Christian fascist Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association says that gay people should not be allowed to hold public office. Gosh, I’m so surprised that a theocratic asshole would say things just like a theocratic asshole would say.
Earlier this year Bryan Fischer took a trip to Cuba, came back and said that the embargo against that country should be lifted. Now that Obama has done just that, of course, he thinks it’s a bad idea and that Obama is only doing it because he’s a Marxist just like Castro.
