Bryan Fischer, being an aficionado of aggrieved hyperbole and totally ignorant of virtually everything, declared on this radio show this week that the “homosexual agenda” was the greatest threat to liberty that America has ever faced in its entire history.

I find it amusing that some Christians point to Jesus’ command to love thy neighbor to get out of all the barbarism of the Old Testament, like slavery is wrong now because we’re supposed to love our neighbor. Now Bryan Fischer says that Jesus would approve of torture, because of course Bryan Fischer would say that.

Bryan Fischer continues to insist that what we did to so many detainees was not torture — bet it would be torture if a Muslim did it — and he goes even further, saying that they had no legal rights at all. In fact, the only reason we treated them as well as we did is because of our “Christian principles.”

California has a law requiring that American history classes include information about the contributions of LGBT people to the country. Bryan Fischer says he’s just fine with that, as long as they start by teaching the ridiculous myth of Sodom and Gomorrah.

As one could easily predict, Bryan Fischer’s response to the release of the Senate Intelligence Committee report on torture was monumentally stupid. Ignoring all the relevant facts — his one true talent — he declares that the Democrats who released it (over the protests of other Democrats who did everything they could to bury it — are “juvenile delinquents.”

Bryan Fischer has added his very thoughtful and relevant views to the national conversation about the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. He thinks it reflects deeper structural problems in society. Just kidding, he thinks Brown was possessed by a “homicidal demon.”

Bryan Fischer really loves black people. Hell, he even lets them use his bathroom and everything. He loves black people so much that he thinks it’s okay to blatantly violate the Constitution to harass as many of them as possible so that a tiny percentage of them won’t hypothetically be allowed to hurt other black people later.

Bryan Fischer, being the Christian fascist that he is, writes once again that the First Amendment applies only to Christians, not to the adherents of any other religion. Reacting to the Florida school stopping outside distribution by religious groups, he offers his usual stupidity and hyperbole:

Bryan Fischer is concerned that there are just too many good candidates that appeal to the religious right and that this diminishes their influence over the Republican primaries. So he wants to have Christian right leaders call the potential candidates before them, interrogate them and then pick one of them to support:

The irony of all this criticism from the Christian right over the Muslim prayer service at the National Cathedral is that it’s really nothing more than an Episcopalian church (the government has no role in it), which they almost certainly don’t think is a real Christian church anyway. But here’s Bryan Fischer ranting about it:

There are few things I find more amusing than the way fundamentalist Christians use language. Only in fundie circles will you ever hear the word “fellowship” as a verb, for example (“we’re going fellowshiping!”). Bryan Fischer provides a perfect example in claiming that God “quickened the campaigns” of Republican candidates:

Bryan Fischer doesn’t think that a person’s sexual orientation is an innate characteristic, but he does think that the hatred of and desire to discriminate against people on the basis of their sexual orientation is innate because God put it there in all of us.
