Bryan Fischer took his ego out for a walk on a recent show, telling his listeners that God put him on earth specifically to stop Satan from telling lies. “I am the truth detector. I am the truth promoter. My responsibility, I believe, what God has put me on this earth to do is to declare and to defend the truth,” he said.

As soon as I heard that the Supreme Court of India has reinstated that country’s barbaric ban on homosexuality, I knew that the wingnuts would be praising that ruling. Bryan Fischer does not disappoint and offers his usual idiotic arguments. Remember, this is their real goal — not to stop same-sex marriage but to once again put gay people in jail.

Bryan Fischer says that the government of Oklahoma is completely free to promote and endorse only the Christian religion and reject any non-Christian monuments because the Constitution only provides protection for Christianity and not for any other religion. This is not the first time he’s said this, of course.

Bryan Fischer is inspired by the (apparently false) story that the country of Angola has banned Islam and tells his listeners that we could do the same thing in America at the state level. Like most wingnuts, he ignores the 14th Amendment, which applies the Bill of Rights to the states. Of course, he thinks the First Amendment only covered Christians anyway, which is just nuts.

Adding to the seemingly endless list of things that God is allegedly going to punish us for, Bryan Fischer says that God will curse America for reaching an initial agreement with Iran over nuclear power. Because Israel doesn’t like it. Good news, gay people — you’re off the hook, the next earthquake or hurricane will be John Kerry’s fault, apparently.

Here’s an amusing blog post by Bryan Fischer arguing that Christmas is actually in the Constitution. I’m sure you missed it, as did most of us. It’s in there, he argues, because of the entirely perfunctory and irrelevant dating of the document “in the year of our Lord,” which was the norm on all official documents at the time.

Bryan Fischer’s track record as a prophet is not very good, to say the least. In fact, it’s downright atrocious. He seems intent on making it worth by fantasizing about the possibility that Democrats might impeach President Obama to help them in the 2014 elections. Apparently he hasn’t seen the polls showing that the Democrats are likely to pick up seats in 2014, not lose them (especially in the House; the Senate will be tougher).

Bryan Fischer offers up his usual hysterical response to something the Obamas are doing. This time it’s hosting a reception to celebrate Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. He says they’re inviting demons into the White House by honoring a false religion.

Bryan Fischer went on one of his typical unhinged rants on his radio show, claiming that Obama is prepping the military to kill Christians, fantasizing that troops may surround the hotel at the Values Voters Summit next year to attack the righteous.

The Christian right’s sudden love of Vladimir Putin is so revealing, I think. They scream and holler about Obama being a tyrannical dictator and now they’re fawning all over a man who actually is an autocratic thug. Bryan Fischer publicly fellated Putin on his radio show a few days ago, calling him a “lion of Christianity.” I bet he just thinks Putin looks hot with his shirt off.

Bryan Fischer turns the right wing demagoguery up to 11 by claiming that President Obama wishes he could arrest all the World War II vets who want to visit memorials during the shutdown. And then he flat out lied and claimed that Obama sent more guards to stop vets from visiting the memorial than he sent to Benghazi.

Bryan Fischer went on one of his classic rants on his radio show, claiming that if “secular fundamentalists” ever get power, they’ll round up conservatives and force them to wear markers like the Nazis did to Jews and forbid them from owning businesses or running for office. This from the guy who says the First Amendment applies only to Christians. And once again Fischer wins his own award.
