Bryan Fischer quotes the Bible claiming that if a nation doesn’t worship God, he’ll crash their economy. Therefore it’s your “patriotic duty” to worship God. Because quoting the Bible is just so incredibly convincing. You mean the Bible says you should worship God? How surprising. This god of theirs really is a massive narcissist — if you aren’t thinking of me all the time, I’m going to hurt you. Sounds like an abusive husband, doesn’t it?
Bryan Fischer is nothing if not entirely consistent in his ability to be hypocritical and absurd. In anticipation of the Supreme Court’s rulings in the two marriage equality cases, he says governors should refuse to comply with a ruling in favor of equality because it would be unconstitutional. Why? Because it would end self-government.
I think the Discovery Institute had better get ahold of Bryan Fischer and have him write a chapter for one of their “intelligent design” textbooks. The noted physicist told his listeners that we finally know now what holds the nucleus of atoms together: Jesus.

I’m sure this will come as a huge shock, but Bryan Fischer is a serious misogynist who thinks women should be at home and not in the workplace. Because God said so. Reacting to a study that shows 40% of mothers are the primary breadwinner in their homes, he says that women are supposed to “devote their energies” to making a home. And women who make more than their husbands are especially bad because it undermines the man’s self-worth.
Matt Barber went on Bryan Fischer’s radio show last week and the results were predictably hilarious. Fischer demonstrated the total lack of self-awareness that led me to name an award after him by declaring that the left is “driven by irrationality.” And Barber said it’s easy to be a conservative Christian because “we just simply tell the truth.” In related news, the pot and the kettle were just found dead in a seedy motel on the north side of Las Vegas after a murder-suicide pact.
Niall Ferguson may be apologizing furiously for his idiotic comments about John Maynard Keynes not caring about the future because he was gay, but Bryan Fischer is piking up that ball and running with it. Because gays are responsible for the collapse of the economy, for reasons he never bothers to explain. Man, those gay people are powerful, aren’t they? They can destroy entire economies through the power of anal sex. Oh, and it has something to do with the “gaystapo.”
While much of the loony right is claiming that Obama is going to seize all the guns, Bryan Fischer apparently doesn’t think quite so big. He says Obama is only going to seize some of the guns — the ones belonging to Christians, of course, who are forever on the verge of terrible persecution that never actually happens.
Bryan Fischer delivered a brief sermon in favor of discrimination, especially against gay people. While praising the Ohio Catholic school that fired a gay teacher, he said discrimination is right and good.
In the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombing, Bryan Fischer is once again beating the drum for banning all Muslims from entering the country. Because remember, the First Amendment only applies to Christians, who generously allow others to have their freedom but retain the right to stop doing so any time they please.
Bryan Fischer went on a bizarre diatribe about the need to pray for President Obama to bow to the will of God, saying that Hitler lost and killed himself because people prayed for that to happen. One wonders why he let him kill millions of people before answering those prayers.
