It has been how many years since US has been after Osama Bin Laden? Well quite a few - almost getting to 5 years now! And this administration has not been able to get to him! Well, what his American Bush couldn't achieve, is being attempted by a porn star by offering the bearded Mullah an Italian "bush"! Cicciolina, an Italian Porn star is offering herself to Osama - in exchange for ending his tyranny! She emphatically believes her assets have helped the mankind as opposed to Osama's assets! Hmm.. possibly. But at her age - she is 55 years - its debatable whether those "assets" are potent enough!? So its up for argument whether her ability to help mankind from here on is going to work or not! Read more
In my last post on the Google Calendar I could not for lack of total familiarity mention all the fetaures and the pluses of this tool. Here is an article that does a good job of it: I didnt notice this but invitation management is built-in now... Taking a page from sites such as InterActiveCorp's Evite, Google also built invitation management into Google Calendar. Users can create event invitations to be sent to anyone with an e-mail account. They can also send event reminders via e-mail or cell phone text message, and keep track of RSVPs from within the program. People can see their schedules by day, week, month and four-day views, highlight any period from a monthly calendar for a customized view and display only certain events at a time on their calendar view. Did you know this? Wonder why Yahoo and Microsoft werent guarding this frontier more zealously? Thats a heck of a lot of revenue we are talking about here! You may not know it, but every time you search on Google, the company makes 12 cents in revenue. That may not sound like much but it all adds up when you realise that Americans alone did more than 2.7 billion searches via Google in January 2006, according to figures gathered by Nielsen/NetRatings. The analyst firm estimates that 48% of the 5.7 billion searches carried out by Americans in January were done via Google. Read more
Well it was fairly obvious that the online leaders would not sit quietly if these telecom majors start charging for every online movement of data as they are proposing! The promise of web and the TV/Music delivery will go to the wayside if that were to occur! Analysts are speculating that Internet and media companies could team up to bid for radio spectrum in order to launch wireless broadband services, as a way around the phone companies. Rumors that nontelecom companies could bid for wireless spectrum have floated around for a few years. The new speculation focuses on large Internet content firms such as Google, (GOOG) Amazon.com, (AMZN) and eBay. (EBAY) Read more
Google calendar is finally here!! I was waiting for this for so many months now.. I use the Yahoo calendar and wanted one place that I could call my base for my time management and knew Google would do a good job when it does come out. Just started using it - and it seems to be slick! It perhaps uses the Ajax technology. The feature that I really like is the ability to integrate various public calendars! So if you have made your calendar public - it can be incorporated in mine. What this ALSO means is that if an organization or person has created a calendar for some events - it can be brought in too - for example I brought in schedule for the Cricket matches that India is playing as well as Indian Holidays! This way, the Google calendar not only goes against the other calendars from Yahoo and hotmail but also is a head on competition to Upcoming calendar.. which is very interesting! Read more
Gotham Chopra, son of the Consciousness Guru Deepak Chopra, writes on Intentblog about the US response and actions on Iran and the Nuke proliferation. So the clock is ticking (3 years) and now the Iranians have nukes and we're scared $hitless. Wah wah wah...they defied the UN security council (just like us). I watching this process with great curiosity, the US telling countries like Iran that they can't play with the weapons that we have a'plenty! It's just so patronizing. And we wonder why they hate us!
