Afghanistan has told the West it should mind its own business. Come again? And then he goes on the context of the death sentence of the Afghan man who converted from Islam to Christianity. Read more

This is the story of SAP. The kind of misses - really famous ones - that IBM has had in terms of BIG ideas and businesses that could have flourished from it - it is amazing that it is still thriving! This is a rather interesting news from MIT. This can essentially help many "brain-dead" victims who may not have been brain-dead really or those with Autism. Of course, such a device can be used by many other folks like: - FBI: to know what the terror suspect is thinking - Lover: to know what his beloved is thinking - Quiz Participants: To know the answer in the Quiz Master's mind.. etc. etc. Any more ideas? Three researchers at the MIT Media Lab have developed a device that "reads minds" and alerts wearers to the emotional state of the person they're conversing with. Read more

This is as crazy as it possibly gets in the Patents and Intellectual Property world! First it was the suit against Blackberry and now this one by Netflix! They have patented a "method" by which subscribers can select the movies and second for a method for subscribers to keep the movies as long as they wish without extra charge.. hmm so what is so patent about this thought?? Is strategic intent to be patented? Any combination of different actions? Where do we go next from here? Patenting how we sneeze? Unless some commonsensical guy comes up with some commonsensical legislation - the business environment in the world is going to become impossible for innovations to prosper! Read more

This is an interesting article - just look at the salary packages! The salaries in some cases are HIGHER than those offered to Wharton or Harvard grads - or at least in that league! And this MBA costs MUCH less - I just checked the ISB site and the total expenditure - including Tuition, course packs etc + Lodging + Food (taken on the higher side) comes to a ... whopping.. $36,000!! How is that for a deal? And this is just a one year program too!! The School was set up in collaboration with US schools like Kellogg etc. Read more
