Discussion<\/b><\/p>\n

Just because something is in Bhagwad Gita, doesn\u2019t make it the philosophy of Gita or of Krishna. There are two significant things about Hindu scriptures:<\/p>\n

1. They are mostly question and answer types, where the seeker grows as the time goes on. So, the seeker shows signs of immaturity and asks and even frames questions out his\/her ignorance.
\n2. Unfortunately, instead of learning from our texts, we have made our texts into something to be only revered. So, we look at everything in it as sacred. Which means we do not hesitate to bestow divinity to even Arjun, who was in total ignorance before the message of Gita was given.<\/p>\n

What Arjun says here about how fighting and killing his close kith and kin will hurt the dharma of his family and \u201cpollute\u201d the women and make the entire generations go to hell, comes out of ignorance. The entire message of Gita, heretofore, is about the irrelevance of attachments and relationships in the broader sense.<\/p>\n

Because of the basic nature of Q&A format and the fact that most of us Hindus rever this book, we do not understand the context of Gita properly. <\/p>\n

Without appreciating Arjun\u2019s ignorance; the wisdom of Shri Krishna cannot be comprehended.<\/p>\n

Violence is not a great idea. It should never be used for anything \u2013 but the truth is that Violence is still used by cosmos to regenerate itself. One doesn\u2019t need to go in search for violent situations, but if some come up and despite all the efforts to diffuse it, the enemy still insists on war, then it is not a prudent idea to leave the field.<\/p>\n
