<\/a>We are all One here.<\/p>\nWe are all One on this tiny, spinning, blue and white planet,
\nThis rocky \u201cgoldilocks\u201d planet, at just the right distance from its sun,
\nThis planet of earth, water, fire, and air,
\nThis planet surrounded by an invisible skin of just the right gases
\nTo foster carbon-based, oxygen- and carbon-dioxide breathing life,
\nAnd protect against overly intense, ultraviolet radiation.<\/p>\n
We are all One, on this planet with its own moon
\nAt just the right distance
\nTo pull the oceans\u2019 tides to and fro,
\nIn just the right way to gestate
\nLiving beings everywhere on Earth.
\nThis planet with just enough magnetism
\nAnd just enough gravity
\nFor life as we know it.<\/p>\n
We take this all for granted mostly, without thought of our bounty,
\nOf the blessedness of our simply being alive and breathing
\nAnd conscious here.<\/p>\n
We are all One.<\/p>\n
We are all riders on this sacred, blessed planet, orbiting our sun
\nIn the outer reaches in the outback of the Milky Way.<\/p>\n
We see ourselves as separate\u2013
\nSeparate from each other,
\nSeparate from the kingdoms,
\nMineral, plant, and animal,
\nEven though our scientists can trace
\nOur physical kinship with
\nAnd our physical dependence on
\nThese kingdoms\u2013<\/p>\n
We see ourselves as separate,
\nEven though we share with the animal kingdom
\nSo much of our DNA
\nAnd even though our physical bodies
\nAre composed literally of elements
\nFrom the mineral kingdom
\nAnd even though the very sustenance of our lives
\nRests upon the abundance of the plant kingdom.<\/p>\n
We see ourselves as separate,
\nSeparate from our Source, our Creator.
\nSeparate, alienated, alone.<\/p>\n
We are all One.<\/p>\n
We each come with our own history of private pain and suffering
\nAnd we each have experienced joy and elation,
\nThe polar opposites of our human experience.<\/p>\n
Our minds crave stimulation and fear stillness and silence.
\nWe drift seemingly alone in our own prisons of illusion.<\/p>\n
We resist being alone with ourselves
\nAnd we distract ourselves with every new toy that comes along
\nTo avoid our true work-
\nThe work of knowing ourselves-to Know who we Are.<\/p>\n
We are all One.<\/p>\n
Each of us in a human body, if being truthful with ourselves,
\nCan recognize this human condition, this dilemma of being human.
\nThe moment we recognize, the moment we admit to ourselves,
\nAnd the moment we yearn for greater meaning,
\nWe are already moving
\nAlong a trajectory toward the Light.<\/p>\n
How could it not be so, for we are all One.<\/p>\n
In the moment that you, that we
\nBecome aware of this\u2013in the moment of Realization,
\nWe finally must Know . . .<\/p>\n
Know that we are pathfinders,
\nThat we have become light bearers,
\nNovices though we are,
\nAnd responsible to and for
\nThe many who will see our light or its reflection.<\/p>\n
The candle flame lights another candle,
\nEmpowers another soul to take
\nThe first steps out of despair,
\nOut of disillusionment, out of separation,
\nOut of the prison of illusion.<\/p>\n
We have become the keepers of the flame,
\nJust as those on whose shoulders we all stand
\nWere pathfinders and light bearers before us\u2013
\nUntil our legs were strong enough,
\nUntil our minds were clear enough,
\nUntil our emotions were gentle enough
\nTo make our way out of the darkness and into the Light.<\/p>\n
Until we were ready to truly love ourselves.
\nUntil we understood, experienced, and realized<\/p>\n
That we Are all One.<\/p>\n
Our work Here,
\nOn this beautiful Earth
\nIs for ourselves
\nBut it is also for humanity
\nAnd for all beings.<\/p>\n
