Veena Malik saga is not ending so soon. After the nude picture issue, where she has finally sued FHM magazine, she is now in soup at home. Her father has dumped her<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have severed all ties with her and I don\u2019t want her to have any share in whatever meagre assets I have until she is cleared of the controversy and pledges not to visit India again,\u201d he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He is angry at her nude photos. Despite her suit and negation, the argument is not flying with her family really. I believe that every family and culture has its own mores and framework, and it should be respected. Sometimes some folks go out of that framework and as much of consternation as it may create, one has to deal with the new world and changing situation.<\/p>\n

What intrigues me is his insistence on not going to India ever. He is talking the language of \u201cHonor Killing families\u201d when he says further that Veena should be given exemplary punishment \u201cso that no other woman would think of doing such thing\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n

He further says and makes it amply clear for him it is more than an \u201cHonor issue\u201d. It is a nationalistic issue as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can ignore if she disobeys me but I cannot tolerate anything against my country and my faith,\u201d he added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There are a lot of issues that come between India and Pakistan. Unless we can settle them, we are, in any case on the brink of a war at all times. Should we make even things like Entertainment or Movies or Art\/Culture into nationalistic issues and wars? <\/p>\n

To talk about the Veena\u2019s photo-shoot almost as \u201cwarfare\u201d from India is to simply fuel the fires un-necessary!! Honestly, no one gives a damn \u2013 after a certain time and beyond a certain group in the Entertainment field in India \u2013 for Veena. Not because she is Pakistani, but because she isn\u2019t any great shakes.<\/p>\n

Now, someone like Mehdi Hassan or Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan would have been a different thing.<\/p>\n

As much as I see the Indian movies, Indian TV and Pakistani actors\/actresses working in India being blown up out of proportion in Pakistani TV news\/analysis programs, I have to say that they need to get a life. There is a LOT about Pakistan that is screwed up (a lot in India is also screwed up, which WE should focus on) and Veena Malik\u2019s photoshoot or her participation in an Indian movie is the least<\/strong> important of the critical ones. It is time that these news analysts start focusing on these issues to make their country better as opposed to create more imaginary instances of \u201cVictimization\u201d that the world is conniving for Pakistanis. <\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
