Bose and Einstein together<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>Higgs Boson<\/em> \u2013 or the \u201cGod\u2019s particle\u201d is in news these days.<\/p>\nSome have come to know that the Boson is a word that is based on the name of the Indian Science great Satyendranath Bose.\u00a0 Bosons are elementary sub-atomic particles which were named after Bose, because of the work that was in the quantum physics area by him along with Einstein.\u00a0 It is said that Bose\u2019s research paper on Quantum Statistics was rejected by various journals, until it landed in the hands of Einstein.\u00a0 Einstein recognized the merit of what Bose was saying and intervened by first getting it translated into German and then getting it printed.\u00a0 It was the collaboration between Bose and Einstein that yielded the Bose-Einstein statistics and the Bose-Einstein Condensate principle.\u00a0 This is what governs the Bosons.<\/p>\n
Higgs Boson, also called Brout-Englert-Higgs Boson is also a hypothetical elementary particle and one type of Boson.<\/p>\n
It was called God\u2019s Particle because of a book written by Leon Lederman \u2013 a Nobel Physics Laureate.\u00a0 The book was called \u201cThe God Particle: If the Universe is the Answer, what is the question?\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 Although Leon had not wanted this title, the publisher insisted on calling it the \u201cGod Particle\u201d.\u00a0 Disliked by scientists and embraced by the popular culture, this name has stuck on.<\/p>\nWhat is God Particle or Higgs Boson<\/strong><\/p>\nThe world \u2013 entire Universe \u2013 is, at the sub-atomic level all but elementary particles and forces.\u00a0 These are in \u201cwave\u201d form and can be observed to be \u201cparticles\u201d only on observation.\u00a0 In their unobserved and unengaged state, they are waves\/energy.<\/p>\n
The entire interaction of the elementary particles is understood using what is known as the \u201cStandard Model\u201d.<\/p>\n
Strangely, the entire mathematics and the empirical evidence that confirmed all other characteristics of the elementary particles added a strange constraint \u2013 the elementary form of existence could not have mass.\u00a0 That is, although it was clear as to how the Universes existed at the sub-atomic level, it wasn\u2019t clear how it manifested the way it did at the gross level!<\/p>\n
The theory that was forwarded was the impact of \u201cHiggs Field\u201d, which if were to permeate the space and interact with the elementary particles in a certain way, it would lead to what was called the \u201cHiggs Mechanism\u201d.\u00a0 This interaction would end up creating the phenomenon of \u201cMass\u201d.<\/p>\n
However, for all this \u2013 Higgs mechanism \u2013 to work, there had to be a boson which was the counterpart of the Higgs field.\u00a0 This unknown and undiscovered but theorized boson was called the \u201cHiggs Boson\u201d.<\/p>\n
The excitement in the scientific field is because now they realize \u2013 now, that they have a better view of Higgs Boson \u2013 that the Standard Model is true after all!<\/p>\n
How does Infinite manifest the Finite?<\/strong><\/p>\nBoth, Scientists and Spiritualists are in very similar quests.\u00a0 They all are stuck with the question \u2013 How does the Infinite manifest the Finite?<\/em><\/p>\nWhile the Spiritualists call the Infinite as the \u201cCreator\u201d, and Finite as the \u201cCreation\u201d; Scientists call \u201cWave\u201d (without mass) as the Infinite and Particle (with mass) as the Finite.<\/p>\n
The link for solving the question in case of the Scientists was the \u201cGod Particle\u201d.\u00a0 Basically, mirroring the articulation of the Spiritualists.\u00a0 And, this is what has probably irked many Scientists so much.\u00a0 They do not see any \u201cGod\u2019s Hand\u201d in this entire thing.\u00a0 While Spiritualists will be wont to say, that this IS God itself.\u00a0 Just manifested differently.<\/p>\n
