Kanwarias are devotees of Lord Shiva who walk hundreds of kilometers in North India carrying water from different rivers. \u00a0The annual journey known as Kanvad Yatra \u00a0(\u00a0\u0915\u093e\u0901\u0935\u0930 \u092f\u093e\u0924\u094d\u0930\u093e or \u0915\u093e\u0902\u0935\u0921\u093c \u092f\u093e\u0924\u094d\u0930\u093e) is taken from as far as Bihar to Ganges in Haridwar, Gaumukh, Gangotri and these are offered in their local temples. \u00a0This journey of Kanvads has gained popularity in recent years amongst the youth in the various states of North India. \u00a0Devotees from\u00a0\u00a0Delhi,\u00a0Uttar Pradesh,\u00a0Haryana,\u00a0Rajasthan,\u00a0Punjab,\u00a0\u00a0Bihar,\u00a0Jharkhand,\u00a0Chhattisgarh\u00a0and\u00a0Madhya Pradesh walk many hundreds of kilometers to reach Haridwar or Gaumukh to get the Ganga Water.<\/p>\n
