Another example<\/a> of clueless and backward politicians who are ready to set the country back for their personal interests and constituencies which would rather earn off of no work than even move their hands and legs!<\/p>\n

I had once argued that the Public Sector employees salaries are like Institutional Beggary!! The Government should close all the factories that do not and, indeed, cannot run efficiently and profitably and simply send a monthly check to those good-for-nothing employees with \u201cMonthly Begging Cheque\u201d written on it! Let us at least save on the other fixed and variable cost!!<\/p>\n

This Karat idiot hasnt really understood the significance of the lack of good airports in India and how imperative it is that we get good and user friendly airports in India. Global business is not forever to stay in a country that doesn\u2019t give two hoots to it!! Sooner we understand the better it will be for all of us!!<\/p>\n

The UPA government\u2019s Delhi and Mumbai airport restructuring plan hit an airpocket once again on Tuesday with the CPI(M), the key Left party extending outside support to the ruling alliance, asking Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to keep the project in \u201cabeyance\u201d until the report of the tripartite committee, set up to look into concerns raised by AAI employees, was finalised.<\/p>\n

In a letter that he dashed off to Prime Minister on Monday evening, CPI(M) general secretary Prakash Karat said no meeting of the committee had been called yet although it was supposed to submit its report within the next three months.<\/p>\n

\u201cI therefore, strongly feel that the decision of the government to hand over Delhi and Mumbai airports to private players should be kept in abeyance till the report of the tripartite committee is finalised,\u201d he said, adding<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope you will act in the matter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Karat reminded the Prime Minister that it was in response to his appeal along with an explicit assurance from civil aviation minister Praful Patel to form the tripartite committee (comprising representatives of civil aviation ministry, AAI and Joint Employees Forum), that the strike by AAI employees was called off last month.<\/p>\n

Mr Karat pointed out that Mr Patel had stated in his February 4 letter to the Joint Employees Forum that the committee would \u201clook into issues and proposals of modernising airports by AAI and employee-related issues\u201d. His letter clearly indicated that the Left parties were displeased with the ministry of civil aviation seemingly taking a casual approach on the issue.<\/p>\n
