America is changing. \u00a0And it was obvious in this year\u2019s election as the African<\/a> American and Hispanic<\/a> vote beat the majority of White vote (70% of it) to elect Barack Obama<\/a> as the President. By 2024, it is projected to become a country of minorities, when the Whites will lose the majority status, if the current trends keep up.<\/p>\n

United States<\/a> will become a nation of minorities in 2043 when whites will cease to make up a majority of the population, theUS Census Bureau\u00a0said on Wednesday. \u00a0In its first set of projections based on the 2010 census, the federal agency said the non-Hispanic white<\/a> population is expected to peak in 2024 at 199.6 million in 2024 and then slowly decrease.<\/p>\n

Other racial and ethnic groups<\/a> will meanwhile keep growing. \u00a0Hispanics will double in numbers to 128.8 million in 2060, or nearly one in three US residents, as will Asians<\/a>, to 34.4 million or 8.2 percent of the projected total population of 420.3 million.
