Thank you! \u00a0Thanks, Goldman Sachs for saying something that I have been saying for long. \u00a0Computing has to be viewed by including smartphones as well! \u00a0Because you know what? \u00a0Tomorrow\u2019 Computers will be based on Today\u2019s Smartphones and NOT on today\u2019s PC!<\/strong><\/p>\n

The sooner the hardware and software companies understand this, the better they will be 10 years from now.<\/p>\n

The report, which was\u00a0obtained<\/a>\u00a0last week by\u00a0The Seattle Times<\/em>, says that while Microsoft operating systems were found on 97 per cent of all computing devices as recently as 2000, Redmond\u2019s current share is just 20 per cent, thanks to the explosion of mobile devices in recent years.<\/p>\n

Throw smartphones and tablets into the mix along with traditional laptops and PCs, and Google emerges as the current platform leader. Goldman estimates that the Chocolate Factory\u2019s Android OS is now installed on 42 per cent of all computing devices worldwide.<\/p>\n

Coming in second place is Apple, which helps to explain its mammoth stock valuation. Between OS X and iOS, the fruity firm actually has more users than Windows does now, with 24 per cent of the overall device market.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So, basically, tomorrow\u2019s computing wars will be between Google and Apple. \u00a0Microsoft will be an \u201calso ran\u201d. \u00a0Ironical huh?!<\/p>\n

The Goldman Sachs also suggested another breakthrough area that may become big in the coming days. \u00a0Smart TV!<\/strong><\/p>\n

But the tech industry is a tricky thing, and Goldman Sachs is quick to point out that we may yet see still another device category emerge that could shake up the market just as much as tablets have.<\/p>\n

Goldman\u2019s pick? Smart TVs, including standalone sets and devices such as Apple TV, Google TV, Roku, and Microsoft\u2019s own Xbox.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe see [Smart TV] as having the potential to either further entrench current winners, such as\u00a0Apple, or completely disrupt the market once again,\u201d the report says, adding that \u201cconsumers will match the platform of their more frequently purchased smartphones and tablets to the television they already own.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I completely agree with that!<\/p>\n
