At least 5.6% of the world\u2019s internet savvy generation is either desperate or just plain full of losers! In any case, it seems that out of the spam, there are folks who still have some success and the hierarchy is like this<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Sex sells. That\u2019s the conclusion of the chief technology officer of CipherTrust,<\/a> a company which sells services to companies to monitor incoming e-mail for threats and outgoing e-mail for company policy compliance.<\/p>\n

An analysis by the company showed that spam messages promoting pornography are 280 times more likely to be opened than e-mails for pharmacy drugs. Porn\u2019s click through rate was 5.6%, compared to .02% for drug deals, The New York Times reported.<\/a> Pharmaceutical offers were second most-effective, followed by Rolex watch spam in third place with a click through rate of .0075%.<\/p>\n
