Rawal TV in Canada has been hosting discussions \u2013 primarily \u2013 by Pakistanis, on topics which are important to the Pakistanis.\u00a0 These discussions are substantive and informative.\u00a0 The most important part of these discussions is that the people called have done remarkable amount of thinking and reading on these subjects and have a \u201cpoint of view\u201d.\u00a0 And, this point of view is not the run of the mill view that mostly emanates from Pakistan and elsewhere.<\/p>\n

This is a discussion on an important day for sub-continent.\u00a0 23rd March.\u00a0 Three most important Freedom Fighters \u2013 Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru \u2013 were hanged on 23rd March in the Lahore Jail.\u00a0 That unleashed a new wave of youth-powered freedom movement.\u00a0 This trio fired the imagination in a big way.<\/p>\n

Also, 9 years later, a Lahore Resolution was passed due to which, this day came to be known as \u201cPakistan Resolution Day<\/b>\u201c.\u00a0 The guest here Dr. Tahir Qazi argues that calling it a Pakistan Resolution is a mistake as neither Pakistan, nor partition was ever mentioned in the resolution.\u00a0 However, this resolution and the subsequent activities of Muslim League unleashed another wave on the sub-continent.\u00a0 Of violence, intolerance and bloodshed.\u00a0 More importantly, of an enduring poverty.<\/p>\n
