A 19-year-old New Zealand student \u201csold\u201d her virginity to a stranger for more than 45,000 New Zealand dollars ($31,500) to pay university fees, according to news reports on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The student, who called herself \u201cUnigirl\u201d in an advertisement on an auction website, said she received more than 1,200 bids from the 30,000 people who viewed her ad online.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have accepted an offer in excess of $45,000, which is way beyond what I dreamed,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
In the ad, she said she was attractive and still a virgin.
\n\u201cI am offering my virginity by tender to the highest bidder as long as all personal safety aspects are observed,\u201d she said on the website ineed.co.nz.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is my decision made with full awareness of the circumstances and possible consequences,\u201d she said.
