Dr. Louann Brizendine M.D., is a neuropsychiatrist and the author of \u201cThe Female Brain\u201d. She has now come out with a new book \u201cThe Male Brain: A Breakthrough Understanding Of How Men And Boys Think\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There she argues<\/a> that the male species in predisposed to being obsessed with Sex. Some of her findings almost seem like cliches, so one wonders if there is some truth to the cliches or if the doc\u2019s research was rather quacky? Some of her assertions:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Men really are sex-crazed:<\/strong> The brain\u2019s part linked to sexual pursuit is two-and-a-half times larger in males than females.<\/li>\n
  2. They\u2019re programmed to be perverse:<\/strong> The testosterone drives what Louann calls the \u201cman trance\u201d \u2013 a glazed-eye stare at breasts. She says: \u201cI wish I could say that men can stop themselves from entering this trance. But the truth is, they can\u2019t.\u201d<\/li>\n
  3. Men want more partners:<\/strong> According to the book, men want an average of 14 sexual partners in their lifetime. Women want one or two.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    I am sure generalizations don\u2019t help to understand members of any group or species. I am sure there are men who are not sex starved and there are women who are so obsessed with sex that they could leave several men exhausted.<\/p>\n

    So, her complete conclusion \u2013<\/p>\n

      \n
    • men are obsessed with sex; <\/li>\n
    • they hide their emotions, and <\/li>\n
    • cheat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      So what can women do about this species?<\/p>\n

      \u201cThe best advice I have for women is make peace with the male brain. Let men be men.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
