The Research Blogging Awards are voted for by fellow research bloggers, so it\u2019s doubly satisfying to win. You can listen to a podcast<\/a> by Dave Munger and Joy More (of Seed Media, who are behind the awards) \u2013 and there\u2019s also a transcript if listening\u2019s not your thing.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s $50 prize money, which I\u2019ll look to see if they can donate directly to a charity (rather than converting first to sterling). But which charity?<\/p>\n

So here\u2019s a chance for readers! I\u2019d like you to nominate\/vote for a US charity that you think should get the cash. Not a humanist one \u2013 I\u2019m thinking something like M\u00e9decins Sans Fronti\u00e8res or Oxfam (OK neither of them are US charities, but they have US affiliation). In other words, a secular charity working on an international scale.<\/p>\n

By the way, congratulations to Ed Yong and Not Exactly Rocket Science<\/a>, who\u2019s walked off with the $1000 award for the Research Blog of the year. It\u2019s a consistently excellent blog, and fully deserves the award!<\/p>\n
