Apologetics – On Asking the Right Question (N.T. Wright)

Last night I began teaching my diploma course on Christian Apologetics. We covered the normal prolegomena (what is apologetics, aims of apologetics, 1 Pet 3:15, types of apologetics, faith vs. reason, etc.), then we finished off with this you.tube clip from N.T Wright “Asking the Right Question” from when he was in western Canada not long ago.

I was a bit surprised that N.T. Wright (NTW) took a swipe at William Lane Craig (WLC). I see NTW’s point about WLC being a modernist, but I think that NTW and WLC have a lot in common in terms of “historical apologetics”. In fact, a criticism of NTW from Jesus Seminar folks is that NTW is basically doing “narrative apologetics” (I think Bob Funk made that point). Any ways, it’s a cool clip, it’s NTW’s attempts to give a C.S. Lewis style apologetic of a Christian society filled with good Christians as being one of the best apologetics there are.
