The book features Al Mohler, Peter Enns, Kevin Vanhoozer, John Franke, and Michael Bird. It is edited by James Merrick and Stephen Garrett.<\/p>\n

Here is a video from Peter Enns and Al Mohler about the book:<\/p>\n<\/iframe>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">My favourite line from the book is \u201cDon\u2019t cry for me Chewbacca\u201d which I wrote in response to Kevin Vanhoozer. You\u2019ll have to purchase the book to learn the context!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Here is a quote from my essay in the volume:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>To say that the Bible is authoritative is to affirm that the Bible is divinely authorized because the Holy Spirit speaks to us through it\u2014exactly what the Westminster Confession and London Baptist Confession both affirm.<a title=\"\" href=\"file:\/\/mail1\/homes%24\/m.bird\/My%20Documents\/Research\/Articles\/Forthcoming\/Biblical%20Inerrancy%20Bird%20(V).doc#_ftn1\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">[1]<\/a> Therefore, Scripture must be obeyed in its entirety and not treated as an item for negotiation. There is the story about Adolf Schlatter, who, when interviewed for a professorial appointment in Berlin, was asked by a churchman on the interview panel if he as an academic \u201cstood on the Bible.\u201d Schlatter replied, \u201cNo, I stand under the Bible.\u201d<a title=\"\" href=\"file:\/\/mail1\/homes%24\/m.bird\/My%20Documents\/Research\/Articles\/Forthcoming\/Biblical%20Inerrancy%20Bird%20(V).doc#_ftn2\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">[2]<\/a> As followers of Jesus, we do not sit in judgment of God\u2019s Word; we allow it to stand in judgment of us. We strive to obey its precepts and live out its story. Indeed, a focus on the Bible\u2019s authority moves us from the abstract toward the practical. For how we live under the Bible is the ultimate test of what we believe about God and the Bible. John Stott wrote, \u201cThe hallmark of authentic evangelicalism is not subscription but submission.
