Over at the Marginalia Review of Books are two reviews of N.T. Wright\u2019s\u00a0Paul and the Faithfulness of God\u00a0<\/em>by Douglas Campbell<\/a> and Michael Thate<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Campbell thinks that Wright\u2019s view of Judaism remains skewed as \u201can account of Judaism that is imposed, monolithic, and yet internally incoherent \u2014 a classic instance of othering.<\/span>\u201d\u00a0But even so, he says that \u201cat the end of the day, the wheat that Wright asks us to harvest is a comprehensive, scripturally informed, and theologically engaged reading of the apostle, and these are deeply impoverished dimensions in much of the apostle\u2019s interpretation today. Anything that gets scholars thinking hard about Paul in these terms \u2014 however much the specifics might be debated \u2014 is in my view fundamentally a very good thing.<\/span>\u201d<\/p>\n
