DREAM A LITTLE DREAM: Recent dreams included a really hideous nightmare based partly on Misery (for my money one of the scariest movies I’ve ever seen–book is extremely frightening too, but not as much so). Fortunately they also included some fun stuff; for example, my former boss sent me an enormous file on my cell phone, including a map, detailing how different jurisdictions enforced Prohibition. Now that’s all well and good, except that a) in the dream, Prohibition took place in the 1930s, not the 1920s; b) Prohibition covered the entire Americas (except for Canada, which didn’t exist–my subconscious seems to be somewhat reactionary); and c) we fought WWII against Iraq. What’n Ah say what’n? …Then the dream segued into something about fair use and trademark protection among Goth rockers and makers of role-playing games. Could I make that up?
