I taught a course on Christology last spring, and in preparation I read a lot about St. Cyril of Alexandria. Three books are especially memorable from that time: Cyril\u2019s treatise\u00a0On the Unity of Christ<\/em>,\u00a0Christ in Eastern Christian Thought\u00a0<\/em>by John Meyendorff, and\u00a0St. Cyril of Alexandria: The Christological Controversy<\/em>\u00a0by John McGuckin.<\/p>\n

I also read a few books this year from and about the Church of England and the Anglican Communion, as I continue to try to figure out where I \u201cfit\u201d in Anglicanism. Three books stand out in that category:\u00a0Choose Life: Christmas and Easter Sermons in Canterbury Cathedral\u00a0<\/em>by Rowan Williams,\u00a0The Book of Common Prayer: A Biography\u00a0<\/em>by Alan Jacobs, and the wonderfully illuminating and (for me) comforting\u00a0Michael Ramsey: A Life\u00a0<\/em>by Owen Chadwick.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
