That\u2019s a real health-care pro in action!<\/p>\n<p>And throughout, Schwarz tells the story of one of Logan\u2019s arrests, describing a sobbing mother\u2014the one he\u2019d holstered his guns and put on his bulletproof vest to go out and arrest\u2014now in jail. She was charged with \u201cdoctor shopping\u201d after being tipped off by a physician\u2019s assistant who suspected she was lying to get drugs. Logan found that \u201cin the previous 10 weeks, [she] had been prescribed, from three doctors, 171 total days\u2019 worth of hydrocodone, and 140 days\u2019 worth of tramadol and Percocet, other painkillers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, the mom\u2014whom the <em>Times<\/em> names, and even photographs during her arrest, despite the fact that she has not been convicted or taken a plea and refused to speak to the reporter\u2014tells it differently. Shwarz, who is at the precinct observing even the interview the woman gives to a detective, reports that she says that she had pain from scoliosis and surgery and didn\u2019t know it was illegal to go to several doctors seeking relief\u2014and she doesn\u2019t see herself as addicted.<\/p>\n<p>The article closes with this quote from the sheriff:<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cI understand what they\u2019re saying about privacy, I really do,\u201d Sheriff Walter said. \u201cBut look at this\u2014this is just one woman, one family. Those kids, they\u2019re wondering where Mama is tonight.
