As always I will wander freely and without warning between \u201cbest\u201d and \u201cfavorite.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best books read (nonfiction)<\/strong>: Henri Nouwen, <em>The Return of the Prodigal Son: A Meditation on Fathers, Brothers, And Sons<\/em>. I read this because Wesley Hill loves it so much. What should I read next year, Wes? \u2026My psychology doesn\u2019t always line up too well with Nouwen\u2019s, but that didn\u2019t stop this from being so necessary for me. Really freeing; a beautiful portrayal of God\u2019s trustworthiness and His desire that we become like Him.<\/p>\n<p>Bp. Kallistos Ware, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/evetushnet\/tag\/bp-kallistos-ware\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Orthodox Way<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gavin de Becker,<a href=\"www.theamericanconservative.com\/before-yesallwomen-there-was-the-gift-of-fear\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\"> <em>The Gift of Fear<\/em><\/a>. It\u2019s really only <em>a<\/em> gift of fear.<\/p>\n<p>Melinda Selmys, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/evetushnet\/2014\/01\/the-further-adventures-of-melinda-selmys.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">Sexual Authenticity: More Reflections<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Archdiocese of Philadelphia (no, trust me!), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theamericanconservative.com\/articles\/a-lonely-hearts-church\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><em>Love Is Our Mission: The Family Fully Alive<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And I was thrilled to read the galleys for two books coming out in 2015: Wesley Hill\u2019s <em>Spiritual Friendship<\/em> and Leah Libresco\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/arrivingatamen.com\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><em>Arriving at Amen<\/em><\/a>. No contest; this blew everything else away.
