\nThe answer, what alternative do we have?\n<\/p>\n
\nBut there is something deeper to that answer. As human beings we
\ncannot continue down a path that resists every step we take without
\ncoming to the brink of quitting. We need encouragement, we need
\ninspiration, we need people that believe in us.
\nWho encourages you? What do you draw inspiration from? Do others believe in you?
\nI have many ambitions for my life and I am blessed to have a family
\nthat supports me. I am blessed to have friends that encourage me. I am
\nblessed to have a partner that stands beside me.
\nYet there is more to keep us going in the fight for justice and
\nequality. We have the ability to draw upon historical figures such as
\nDr. Martin Luther King Jr. who once said \u201cEverybody can be great
\nbecause anybody can serve. You don\u2019t have to have college degree to
\nserve. You don\u2019t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You
\nonly need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.\u201d We are
\ninspired by a just and loving God in Micah 6:8 \u201c\u2026to to do justice, and
\nto love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?\u201d Through loving
\nothers we continue the fight against a system of injustice, we continue
\nto end the struggle for equality, and we continue to hold others
\naccountable.
\nAs citizens of the United States, a country founded on the principle of
\nfreedom, we have the great responsibility to be examples, a light for
\nothers as Jesus once explained. But the light is not just for the
\ncitizens of foreign countries but also for our leaders here in the U.S.
\nIt is our duty as voters, as citizens, to question our leaders, in
\nCongress, in the White House, in our churches, synagogues, and mosques,
\nnot to follow them with blind faith. We need to answer them with a
\nfaith that questions and seeks answers. We need to inspire them with
\nour hope of a better future. We need to bring them back the question of
\nhow do you keep fighting injustices? They have lost sight of our
\nfounding principal of freedom and the desire to fight injustice. We
\nneed to refocus with a new found hope that restores the ideals of
\nfreedom and seeks justice.
\nSadly, we have found what the alternative is to fighting injustices. We
\nfind a country that has lost its way. We leave children behind with
\nfailing schools, we leave the poor behind as we give tax breaks to the
\nrich, we leave soldiers behind as we send them to a war based on wrong
\nintelligence and lies.
\nThe problem is justice and freedom go hand in hand. We cannot have
\nfreedom without justice and we cannot have justice unless we have
\nfreedom. This fight against all odds must continue. We must struggle
\nday in and day out on our local levels and we must be a light to our
\nelected leaders to see justice and freedom prevail on a national and
\nglobal level.
