$\"\"$ <\/a>One Direction<\/strong>\u2018s most popular pinup is probably Harry Styles<\/strong>, who is all over the tabloids these days for his relationship with Taylor Swift<\/strong>. But I\u2019m much more interested in something else \u2013 his tattoos. Specifically, the Hebrew one.<\/p>\n

According to The Sun, the tat spells out \u201cGemma,\u201d Harry\u2019s sister\u2019s name<\/a>. (I would have pronounced it \u201cGimah,\u201d but according to my resident fluent ivrit<\/em>-speaker that second symbol is an apostrophe and not a yud.) While it\u2019s sweet of him to get his big sis\u2019 name tattooed on him, I have absolutely no idea why he\u2019d choose to do so in Hebrew. He doesn\u2019t appear to be Jewish or a Hebrew speaker (a la Adam Pally<\/a>), so what significance does the language have for him? My guess is that it\u2019s like why a lot non-Chinese speakers get tattoos in Chinese \u2013 they just think it looks cool. And hey, at least the tat doesn\u2019t spell out \u201cTaylor.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
