\"\"<\/a>Apparently I\u2019m on some kind of music kick or something this week? I don\u2019t know. Either way, Eleanor Friedberger<\/strong> (she\u2019s one half of The Fiery Furnaces<\/strong> and the heroine of Franz Ferdinand<\/strong>\u2018s \u201cEleanor Put Your Boots On\u201d) has a new single out called \u201cHeaven,\u201d and it\u2019s good. And the video features some illustrations that look exactly like Chick Tracts.<\/p>\n

For those of you who didn\u2019t grow up in the Bible Belt, Chick Tracts are these little flip book comics about how if you don\u2019t accept Jesus as your personal lord and savior you will go to hell. (There\u2019s even one about the Dalai Lama<\/strong> going to hell.) (I wrote about Chick Tracts and their sexism here<\/a>.) As a kid, there was scarcely a Halloween when I didn\u2019t get one of these in my trick-or-treat bag.<\/p>\n
