To the surprise of absolutely no one, Mel Gibson<\/strong> is an anti-Semite. But to the possible surprise of like five people, it turns out that the guy is also a Holocaust denier and believer in blood libel. Screenwriter Joe Ezterhas<\/strong>, who is responsible for the brilliance that is Showgirls<\/em>, wrote an open letter to Gibson about their experience working together<\/a> on the now-blessedly-not-happening movie The Maccabees<\/em>. Here goes:<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve come to the conclusion that the reason you won\u2019t make \u2018The Maccabees\u2019 is the ugliest possible one. You hate Jews. You continually called Jews \u2018Hebes\u2019 and \u2018oven-dodgers\u2019 and \u2018Jewboys.\u2019 It seemed that most times when we discussed someone, you asked \u2018He\u2019s a Hebe, isn\u2019t he?\u2019 You said most \u2018gatekeepers\u2019 of American companies were \u2018Hebes\u2019 who \u2018controlled their bosses.\u2019 You said the Holocaust was \u2018mostly a lot of horseshit.\u2019 You said the Torah made reference to the sacrifice of Christian babies and infants. When I told you that you were confusing the Torah with The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, \u2026 you insisted \u2018it\u2019s in the Torah \u2014 it\u2019s in there!\u2019 (It isn\u2019t).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Thank goodness this movie isn\u2019t actually happening, but I can\u2019t believe anyone alive is surprised to hear that Mel Gibson is a big old Jew-hater. What does<\/em> surprise me is the fact that anyone agrees to work with this guy or finance any of his films.
