It is what nearly every Christian \u2014 and people of every major religion \u2014 have believed for two millenia:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">In essence, if we are ever ordered by a government authority to personally violate and sin \u2014 violate God\u2019s law and sin \u2014 if we\u2019re ordered to stop preaching the Gospel, if we\u2019re ordered to perform a same-sex marriage as someone presiding over it, we are called to ignore that\u2026. \u00a0So when those two come into conflict, God\u2019s rules always win.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/david.brody.35\/videos\/10153730656743486\/:\/\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Click here to watch the brief video interview with David Brody of CBN.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/blogs\/ballot-box\/presidential-races\/254918-standing-ovation-at-values-voter-summit-as-rubio\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">This isn\u2019t the first time Rubio\u2019s made such statements<\/a>, and I hope it won\u2019t be the last.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m not ignoring the political motivations behind his comments as he tries to attract the evangelical vote.<\/p>\n<p>But the truth remains.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cWe ought to obey God rather than men.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts+5%3A29&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">(Acts 5:29)<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Anthony Kennedy\u2019s melodramatic \u00a0ruling abolishing marriage doesn\u2019t change the moral fabric of the universe any more than having a climate change meeting in Paris sends jihadists a super-scary message.<\/p>\n<p>It is the height of irony that I write these words on Thanksgiving Day in the US, a day originally set aside to celebrate God\u2019s blessings on our nation\u2019s founders as they pursued the freedom to believe.<\/p>\n<p>Our freedom of conscience is our first freedom. It is the freedom on which all other freedoms stand.<\/p>\n<p>If the government can force us to violate our conscience and endorse behavior considered to be sin by every major religion, they have replaced God as the ultimate authority in our lives.<\/p>\n<p>Now is the time to get clear on what you believe, because you <em>will<\/em> be made to choose.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sooner rather than later, <em>you will be made to care.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Senator and Republican Presidential hopeful Marco Rubio turned some heads on the Left recently by saying we should obey God rather than men.
