No Country for Old Men<\/a><\/i> \u2014 the top-grossing film ever produced or directed by the Coen brothers, beating Bad Santa<\/i> (2003) and O Brother, Where Art Thou?<\/a><\/i> (2000) respectively \u2014 is the odds-on favorite to win the Oscar for Best Picture this Sunday. So I would just like to note that, for the past few weeks, the Miramax Films \u2018 For Your Consideration<\/a>\u2018 website has been linking to a blog post of mine<\/a> on that film, under the category \u2018Notes on the Ending\u2019. Who knows, maybe my musings helped influence some member of the Academy to vote for this film and not some other one. Granted, the Miramax site got the name of this blog wrong \u2014 they called it \u201cFilm Catch Blog\u201d \u2014 but hey, I\u2019ll take the extra traffic just the same, and it\u2019s always good to be grouped with critics like Glenn Kenny, Matt Zoller Seitz and my CT Movies colleague Brett McCracken.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
