I don\u2019t think I have ever done anything quite like this before, but Carmen Andres<\/a> at In the Open Space \u201ctagged\u201d me, so\u2026 Apparently there is a Book Meme making the rounds, and it works like so:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).<\/li>\n
  2. Open the book to page 123.<\/li>\n
  3. Find the fifth sentence.<\/li>\n
  4. Post the next three sentences.<\/li>\n
  5. Tag five people.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The nearest book to me at this very moment in time happens to be the 1978 edition of The Book of Lists<\/a><\/i> by David Wallechinsky, Irving Wallace and Amy Wallace \u2014 a paperback that I put on the table next to my laptop to keep it out of my kids\u2019 hands. Page 123 has only seven sentences \u2014 I assume the list of interplanetary statistics doesn\u2019t count \u2014 so if I have to type out sentences six to eight, I\u2019ll steal the eighth sentence from the top of page 124:<\/p>\n

      In Jeff\u2019s case, if he doesn\u2019t want to give away any spoilers from the books that he is working on, I would say he can limit himself to material that has already been published.
