ComingSoon.net<\/a> passes on the news that Disney and Pixar are not only going to produce Toy Story 3<\/a><\/i> in 3-D, they are going to re-issue the first two movies in 3-D as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 3-D version of the original Toy Story<\/i> (1995) will come out October 2, 2009 \u2014 one day after my birthday, and two days before the twins turn 3 years and 8 months old \u2014 and the 3-D version of Toy Story 2<\/i> (1999) will come out February 12, 2010, only eight days after the twins\u2019 4th birthday. And then, Toy Story 3<\/i> will come out June 18, 2010, when the twins are well into their fifth year.<\/p>\n

Think I should take the kids? Think they\u2019ll be old enough?<\/p>\n

I really, really enjoyed taking them to see The Pirates Who Don\u2019t Do Anything<\/a><\/i> last week, even though I don\u2019t really know whether they \u201cgot\u201d anything out of it. I don\u2019t know how often I should do this \u2014 taking them to movies that might fly over their heads \u2014 but I\u2019m looking forward to seeing another one with them sometime.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in related news, last Sunday, I took the kids to a different church than usual, while my wife stayed home with the newborn<\/a>, and when all the kids at church started watching Wallace & Gromit<\/a><\/i> cartoons during the fellowship hour, my twins joined them \u2014 and a part of me was slightly miffed that it was other people\u2019s kids and not me who was introducing my twins to those beloved characters, but another part of me liked the fact that the twins did seem interested in those films. That<\/i> bodes well.<\/p>\n

The twins actually demand<\/i> to watch DVDs occasionally, now \u2014 so it\u2019s too bad that the DVDs they hold up in the direction of the player tend to be all dinged and scratched and thus unplayable. (The DVDs in question are freebies that come with the diapers that we buy, so I don\u2019t care what condition they\u2019re in.) But once the videos are playing and the twins are sitting down, I still don\u2019t see them react<\/i> to the screen very much \u2014 the major exception in this regard being that 101 Dalmatians<\/a><\/i> episode that I mentioned earlier. And of course, the twins don\u2019t know enough English yet to really talk<\/i> with us about the videos that they watch.<\/p>\n

So I\u2019m not entirely sure what\u2019s going on in their minds, yet, when it comes to movies and such. But hopefully it won\u2019t be too long before I get some<\/i> sort of clue. In the meantime, I love the way my boy, in particular, starts hopping all over the room whenever the music starts playing over the VeggieTales<\/i> end credits.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
