And that this really does seem to be a race between <i><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2008\/01\/more-trivial-box-office-data.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">No Country for Old Men<\/a><\/i> and <i><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2007\/09\/there-will-be-blood-poster-goes.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">There Will Be Blood<\/a><\/i>, because those are the only two films nominated for Best Picture <a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2006\/03\/best-pictures-are-usually-best-edited.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><i>and<\/i> Best Film Editing<\/a>.  And that I can\u2019t recall any other animated film being nominated in as many categories as <i><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2007\/11\/giving-rat-his-due.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Ratatouille<\/a><\/i> \u2014 yes, <i><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2006\/12\/two-out-of-left-field-christmas-movie.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Beauty and the Beast<\/a><\/i> (1991) had six nominations, but three of them were for Original Song, not unlike how <i><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2007\/12\/jim-hill-on-disney-and-pixar-in-jokes.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Enchanted<\/a><\/i> has three for Original Song this year.  (The Academy does love Alan Menken.)<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m sure other thoughts will occur to me over the next few weeks.  In the meantime, here are the films that have been nominated for Oscars, ranked from those with the most nominations to those with only one.
