If <a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2007\/11\/christian-bale-in-terminator-4-but-as.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Christian Bale<\/a> \u2014 who is currently one of six actors playing Bob Dylan in <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0368794\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">I\u2019m Not There<\/a><\/i> \u2014 really <i>does<\/i> play John Connor in the next <i>Terminator<\/i> movie, then perhaps the studio could cast <a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2007\/11\/these-are-john-connors-i-know-i-know.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">all the other actors who have played John Connor<\/a> and hire <i>I\u2019m Not There<\/i> director Todd Haynes to oversee the whole thing.  It\u2019ll never happen, but still.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"2\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">2.<\/a> German director <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0797459\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Robert Sigl<\/a> is developing <i>The 13th Disciple<\/i>, a \u201cHorror\/Adventure\u201d film about archaeologists in India who discover that Jesus had an \u201cevil twin brother\u201d who is now alive again, reincarnated as the head of a religious sect.  Jesus himself will reportedly be \u201conly in the background\u201d of the story, and will not be an active character.  <a href=\"http:\/\/biblefilms.blogspot.com\/2007\/11\/sigls-13th-disciple-13-jnger-jesus-and.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Matt Page<\/a> at the Bible Films Blog has rounded up several news sites and official movie sites on the subject.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"3\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">3.<\/a> <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/hr\/content_display\/news\/e3ibf0bece52a902fb244e4b3ac9786d10d\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/a><\/i> says Ben Stiller is developing a TV pilot called <i>Gods Behaving Badly<\/i>, described as:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>. . . a contemporary comedic tale set in London, where the gods of ancient Greece have been living together in a house since the 1660s. They still are running the world, fighting with one another, but they are dangerously bored and living in much reduced circumstances. Apollo has turned a Goldman Sachs market trader into a tree after she refused casual sex with him. Aphrodite runs a telephone sex service.<\/p>\n<p>\u201d \u2018Gods Behaving Badly\u2019 has a rare comedic collision of the mythic, the mundane and the emotionally real,\u201d Red Hour partner Stuart Cornfeld said. \u201cWe are very excited about moving ahead with this.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I like the Greco-Roman myths, so this could be kind of fun, but I don\u2019t know that I trust Stiller or his company to milk the best humour out of this concept.  For one thing, they\u2019d better not make <i>all<\/i> the jokes about sex.  That\u2019s too easy, too obvious.  It\u2019s one thing for the <i>characters<\/i> to be bored and uninspired, but the <i>writers<\/i> should be a little more clever than that.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"4\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">4.<\/a> I love contrarian readings of popular films \u2014 such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.weeklystandard.com\/content\/public\/articles\/000\/000\/001\/248ipzbt.asp\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Jonathan V. Last<\/a>\u2018s argument that the Empire, rather than the Rebellion, was ultimately on the side of good in the the <i>Star Wars<\/i> movies \u2014 so I have to link to right-wing <i>New York Post<\/i> columnist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nypost.com\/seven\/11252007\/postopinion\/opedcolumnists\/jump__george__jump__478233.htm\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Kyle Smith<\/a>\u2018s recent analysis of <i>It\u2019s a Wonderful Life<\/i> (1946):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>While watching the new colorization of \u201cIt\u2019s a Wonderful Life\u201d on DVD \u2013 this time they got it right; no longer do you get the feeling you\u2019re watching a black-and-white film through stained glass \u2013 I thought: you know who would love this? That\u2019s the lame children\u2019s fantasy which happened to be the first film directed by the head of the studio in 17 years.
