Question:<\/b> You must have a comfortable life which is hard to give up unless something comes up you want to do.<\/p>\n
Broadbent:<\/b> Yeah I had basically three months in Lincolnshire in the summer and suddenly now I\u2019m back on the rollercoaster again and I\u2019ve got to finish off Indiana Jones<\/a> next month and I\u2019ve got a bit on Young Victoria and it\u2019s all been sort of stacking up and then I\u2019m doing Harry Potter<\/a>.<\/p>\n
Question:<\/b> Who are you?<\/p>\n
Broadbent:<\/b> Who am I? He\u2019s called Horace Slughorn<\/a>. He\u2019s a retired teacher of magic who\u2019s drawn back out of retirement because he\u2019s got some secrets they need in the battle against the Deatheaters and he\u2019s quite star struck as a teacher and he\u2019s drawn back into the fold because he likes to notch up celebrity students, and he\u2019s drawn back by Harry.<\/p>\n
Question:<\/b> Is he a comic character?<\/p>\n
Broadbent:<\/b> He is quite a comic character, yes. . . .<\/p>\n
Question: And who are you in Indiana Jones?<\/p>\n
Broadbent: I\u2019m Indiana\u2019s academic colleague at Yale. I\u2019m his friend and colleague \u2013 there\u2019s a couple of my scenes to go.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
As others have noted, it sounds like Broadbent will be playing the same sort of role in the next Indiana Jones<\/i> film that the late Denholm Elliott<\/a> played in Raiders of the Lost Ark<\/a><\/i> (1981) and The Last Crusade<\/a><\/i> (1989). But will it be serious, a la<\/i> Elliott\u2019s role in Raiders<\/i>, or buffoonish, a la<\/i> Elliott\u2019s role in Last Crusade<\/i>?<\/p>\n
