Geraci.  One of the topics that came up was whether robots would be directly responsible to God or, rather, to their human creators \u2014 or both.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Then, on Saturday night, I went and saw the sneak preview of the new Pixar film <i><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2007\/01\/newsbites-knife-hoodwinked-ratatouille.html#3\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Ratatouille<\/a><\/i>, and before it, there was a teaser for <i><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2007\/02\/newsbites-pixar-moore-darwin-silence.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">WALL-E<\/a><\/i>, which comes out next year.  I have embedded a YouTube copy of the teaser below; the tagline is:  \u201cAfter 700 years of doing what he was built for, he\u2019ll discover what he was meant for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s a fascinating distinction.
