But, um, wasn\u2019t Monty Python just referencing the fact that that was how Foley artists<\/a> had been making hoofbeat sounds for years? And does not the relevant scene in Shrek the Third<\/i> show people using other<\/i> bits of old-fashioned Hollywood craft \u2014 such as the moving scenery backdrop? Please tell me Idle\u2019s only joking.<\/span><\/p>\n

MAY 28 UPDATE: It turns out the Globe and Mail<\/a><\/i> ran an interview with Idle ten days ago, in which the reporter mentioned that Idle plays Merlin in Shrek the Third<\/i>, and Idle interrupted: \u201cI don\u2019t want to talk about that, for domestic and legal reasons.\u201d More dry humour?
