He called the book\u2019s version of the Magisterium \u201ca version of the Catholic Church gone astray\u201d and finished by saying that he feels they\u2019ve really done service to Philip Pullman and that those who read the books for the philosophy won\u2019t be disappointed with the film. The cast and producers spoke often at the conference of these themes.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Um, if I may quote a scene from the climactic novel, <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/series\/109\/petertchatta\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Amber Spyglass<\/a><\/i>, in which an ex-nun gives her testimony:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201d . . . I used to be a nun, you see. I thought physics could be done to the glory of God, till I saw there wasn\u2019t any God at all and that physics was more interesting anyway.
