If I neglected to mention those here, it is probably because neither film made the North American top ten, and neither film was released in Canada.  In fact, there <i>was<\/i> going to be a press screening for <i>Slow Burn<\/i> in Vancouver, at least, but it was cancelled when the film\u2019s release was cancelled here.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Lumenick also reports that April 27 will mark a milestone of sorts for the snubbing of critics, since no less than <i>three<\/i> new films will open that day without any advance screenings.  I have already mentioned <i><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2004\/04\/two-more-movies-not-screened-for.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Invisible<\/a><\/i>, an American remake of a Swedish high school supernatural murder mystery, or something like that.  The others are <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0486051\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Wind Chill<\/a><\/i> \u2014 which, like a lot of films that don\u2019t get shown to critics these days, is a supernatural thriller produced by <a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2006\/09\/yet-another-movie-not-screened-for.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Screen<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2007\/01\/yet-another-movie-not-screened-for_30.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Gems<\/a> \u2014 and <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0772178\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Kickin\u2019 It Old Skool<\/a><\/i>, starring Jamie Kennedy as a breakdancer who has been in a coma for the past 20 years.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lou Lumenick at the New York Post reminds us that two movies that went into wide-ish release last week \u2014 Redline and Slow Burn, both of which opened on over 1,100 screens \u2014 were not screened in advance for critics.
