It\u2019s the beginning of wisdom.\u201d  So says God when his sudden appearance in the back seat of a moving car freaks out its driver, in the <a href=\"http:\/\/movies.aol.com\/movie\/evan-almighty\/23571\/main\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">trailer<\/a> for <i><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2006\/10\/evan-almightys-soaring-budget-redux.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Evan Almighty<\/a><\/i>.  So far, I like.  And I note that this film will apparently show the animals <i>helping<\/i> to build the Ark, as they do in Disney\u2019s <i><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2006\/10\/noahs-ark-two-different-disney.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Father Noah\u2019s Ark<\/a><\/i> (1933).<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"2\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">2.<\/a>  Jerry Seinfeld is a genius with trailers.  Remember the one for the documentary <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/trailers\/miramax\/comedian.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Comedian<\/a><\/i> (2002)?  Now he\u2019s got one for his upcoming cartoon <i><a href=\"http:\/\/movies.aol.com\/movie\/bee-movie\/22560\/trailer\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Bee Movie<\/a><\/i> \u2014 except the trailer isn\u2019t animated.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"3\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">3.<\/a>  Apparently <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0486585\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Fuck<\/a><\/i> (2005), a wide-ranging documentary on the ever-so-popular four-letter word, is coming to American theatres next week, over a year after it began touring the festival circuit.  <a href=\"http:\/\/media.movies.ign.com\/articles\/743\/743530\/vids_1.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">IGN.com<\/a> has the trailer and a handful of clips.  And I don\u2019t know what it says about me that I am much less annoyed by the movie\u2019s title \u2014 for reasons I explained <a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2006\/03\/newsbites-arnold-penguins-etc.html#3\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">eight months ago<\/a> \u2014 than I am by the trailer\u2019s use of \u201cit\u2019s\u201d when what it really means to say is \u201cits\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"4\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">4.<\/a>  Victor Morton posts a long, thoughtful, and interesting <a href=\"http:\/\/cinecon.blogspot.com\/2006\/10\/brokeback-president.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">defense<\/a> of <i><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2006\/10\/death-of-president-only-in-canada-eh.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Death of a President<\/a><\/i> at his Rightwing Film Geek blog.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"5\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">5.<\/a> <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.variety.com\/review\/VE1117932034.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Variety<\/a><\/i> reviews <i><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2006\/09\/evangelicals-and-old-global-warming.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Great Warming<\/a><\/i>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A kinder, gentler global warming docu, Michael Taylor\u2019s \u201cThe Great Warming\u201d promotes essentially the same message as the Al Gore-hosted \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2006\/03\/al-gore-goes-looking-for-passion.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">An Inconvenient Truth<\/a>,\u201d but is aimed at a different target audience. If \u201cTruth\u201d preached to the tree-hugging choir, \u201cGreat,\u201d which comes heralded by prominent Evangelicals and was previewed in local churches, seems designed to redefine ecology as a crucial Christian cause. A more diffuse and prettier case for global calamity that accents the positive and stresses the possibility of reversing the planet\u2019s headlong rush to extinction, pic will be released in major U.S. cities by Regal Cinemas on Nov. 9. The church connections notwithstanding, most viewers will catch this on the home front. . . .<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a name=\"6\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">6.<\/a>  I\u2019ve been spotting reviews for an indie film opening in limited release this week called <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0450340\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Unknown<\/a><\/i>, and the reason I mention it here is because its co-stars include <a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2005\/01\/passion-of-christ-article-archive.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">James Caviezel<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2006\/02\/nativity-coming-soon-to-big-screen.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Jeremy Sisto<\/a> \u2014 two of the more high-profile actors to have played Jesus in recent memory!
