\"exodus-facebook-140923\"<\/a>Another Wednesday, another Exodus: Gods and Kings<\/a><\/i> promotional featurette \u2014 this time on \u2018Creating the Action\u2019.<\/p>\n

Once again, the filmmakers emphasize the size, size, size<\/i><\/a> of their movie. In 87 seconds, they use expressions like \u201ca lot\u201d, \u201ca very big-scale production\u201d, \u201cthe biggest historic battle that\u2019s ever been\u201d, \u201cthe scale of this world we\u2019re in is breathtaking\u201d, \u201cepic\u201d and \u201ca colossal endeavor\u201d.<\/p>\n

The video doesn\u2019t seem to be embeddable, but you can watch it over at IGN.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a couple more interviews with the filmmakers have popped up. There isn\u2019t a whole lot new in either of them, but they do have a few interesting quotes.<\/p>\n

For example, Yahoo! UK<\/a> has this interesting section on director Ridley Scott\u2019s efforts to keep this film \u201caccessible\u201d to believers and non-believers alike:<\/p>\n

Despite being a \u201cpretty strong agnostic\u201d, he was keen to make sure the film is accessible to people whether they believe in God and the Bible or not.<\/p>\n

\u201cI walked a fine line between not being modern \u2013 because I think that\u2019s dangerous as well \u2013 but acknowledging where we are in 3000BC and making a film I would understand and see,\u201d he says.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Okay, one quick nitpick: this story is not<\/i> set 3,000 years before Christ<\/i>; rather, it is set roughly 3,000 years ago<\/i>, during the reign of Ramses II (circa 1270 BC).<\/p>\n

But I appreciate Scott\u2019s point, that it would be wrong to impose a \u201cmodern\u201d sensibility on this ancient setting. Let\u2019s hope he toes that line successfully.<\/p>\n

Second, the Italian website Bad Taste<\/a> has posted part two<\/a> of their set-visit report (I linked to part one here<\/a>), but they don\u2019t say much besides the fact that they witnessed some chariots charging into battle, they saw some photos from earlier in the shoot, and they conducted some interviews that will be posted in the weeks to come.<\/p>\n

So, we\u2019ll just have to wait and see if part three of that report, and any parts that come out after that, tell us anything new about the actual film itself.<\/p>\n
