Just a couple new items here.<\/span><\/p>\n

1.<\/a> From IndieWIRE<\/a>\u2018s report on the Cleveland International Film Festival<\/a>, which just wrapped a few days ago:<\/p>\n

Although the film did not pick up an official prize, Kirk Marcolina<\/b> and Larry Grimaldi<\/b>\u2018s delightful doc \u201cCamp Out<\/a><\/b>\u201d was an unqualified hit with our jury. The film<\/a> chronicles a group of gay Christian youth as they attend a camp<\/a> in rural Minnesota. The first of its kind in the United States, the camp is a retreat for gay and lesbian teenagers who want to openly explore their faith in an accepting atmosphere. While the camp\u2019s concept is unique in this country, it is the teens featured in the movie that makes the film a particularly winning experience. Grimaldi was also pleased with his experience at CIFF.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

2.<\/a> Cinematical<\/a> reports that Robin Williams will play a minister in License to Wed<\/i>, starring Mandy Moore, who has already done the church thing in A Walk to Remember<\/a><\/i> (2002) and Saved!<\/a><\/i> (2004; my review<\/a>): \u201cWilliams plays the minister at Moore\u2019s character\u2019s church, who refuses to perform her wedding ceremony unless she and her husband take and pass a prenup class. Needless to say, they don\u2019t pass, it\u2019s the boy\u2019s fault, and they breakup. Don\u2019t worry, though \u2013 they get back together . . . and everything is lovely.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
