So today I get into a car with a monk and one of our priests, and the monk sees the priest\u2019s copy of The Great Book of Needs<\/a><\/i>. In this book, there is the text for a short service that the priest will perform when he serves communion to my wife in the hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n

The monk pages through the book and remarks that there are lots of blessings in it. The priest replies that there are blessings for practically everything in the book.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs there a blessing for a sewing machine?\u201d I ask.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a blessing for everything,\u201d the priest replies, knowingly.<\/p>\n

Ah, ya gotta love going to a church full of movie buffs. Especially when the movie in question is your favorite musical of all time<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And BTW, thanks to everyone who has prayed for my wife, our as-yet-unborn twins, and me during the past four weeks. It has been humbling and encouraging to realize just how many of you are out there.
